Moose Falls, Pastel.

"Moose Falls " Pastel, 10 x 8 "

Just one more small pastel in my Western series. So called "Moose falls" of Yellowstone National Park.
One of my favorite waterfalls there.. smaller and more "private".
Located close to the South entrance to the park.

Waterfall. HDR photo.

Waterfall. HDR photo by Tatiana Myers.

I'm so glad I finished counting of those endless tax receipts!... Had no time for painting but had time to play with software. This is my latest creation and I sort of like it!

"Half-Falls" on Aqua Board.

"Half Falls" by Tatiana Myers

4 X 4" Ampersand Aqua Bord. Gouache. Watercolor.

Yesterday came sample of different boards I ordered from one of my suppliers. I couldn't wait to try my new Ampersand "Aqua Board" and see how it acts.

What to say? I like it. I also tried my new gouache set, that was sitting around for some special occasion. Just as nice, as my new board.

I guess it is all I'm going to do tonight.

New Year photoshoot.

Little Church at Kinkora.

Too cold and winding for horse back riding or for Plein Air painting... Hunting is no good this season either, too bad, but true... So the only reason to get out there - with camera. Of course when you can make it, and so can your car (mine just returned back from the shop!)

We went out to my favorite creek today. Light was so-so, but we managed to get some useful shots. Pennsylvania at winter, how I see it. Enjoy!

November Plein Air.

 9 X 12 ". Soft Pastel, La Carte.

Today we went somewhere in the middle of nowhere Carlisle area... Pretty creek, look like full of rainbow trout. Right enough to keep me slightly mad about not taking my fishing stuff along... Everybody was painting something different; me, on other hand - something very usual. One more little waterfall!

Cove Creek little fall.

La Carte, 11 X 14 "

Art Spectrum Marine set (40 colors)

Some mixed green pastels.

This is one more Plein Air what I did this evening. It took probably about 1,5 hours of work. My very same favorite area on Cove Creek near with famous Appalachian trail. This time I tried to paint not a creek, but little (and very loud!) waterfall.

Running Creek. Last update.

Finished this one and framed it too. For some reason had a very hard time to take a final picture of it. But it is OK.

Stormy River. Plein Air.

So called "half-falls" on Susquehanna river.

9x12"
Dark Gray La Carte
Art Spectrum marine set of pastels (40 colors),

12 colors Richerson Landscape

25 colors Mount Vision Thunderstorm Grays

Due me having my BD I treat myself with little get away from Plein Air session.

Weather was awful and we got in the middle of big storm, but before it hit us, I had about 1-1.5 hours to paint and got some nice colors down with my new set of grays.

Far away light. WIP. Update.

Here is my update on this painting. About another 2 hours of work.

Far away light. (Cove Creek again!) WIP

Ampersand Pastel board 11 x14 "

Mixed soft pastels.

Reference picture for this painting was taken from the middle of creek, when water was shallow and I had a chance to get across of it with my regular shoes. Camera was pointed toward waterfall, however you can not see the falls, just a reflection of light coming from it. Very pretty.

I have a mixed feeling from this painting, still not sure, if I'm going the right direction with it, but I'll try.

I started my first layer with charcoal and then mostly with Russian Yarka pastels, since I have two colors in my little set, that works for my advantage. Next layer is Holbeins, then - everything I have.

Before I started bigger painting, I did my try out for color pallet on La Carte.

I'm going to frame this one in dark mahogany Plein Air style frame to create an affect of tunnel from the dark to the light. I like it mostly so far, but few details. I think I sort of did too much with lights at the end, probably will have to modify it a little, the lesser at this point will be better at my opinion.

I finally can call it "finished" and will have to work on framing. So happy! Took for me a while. :-)

Waterfall.

Met with our friend, Karen, this morning. She is taking photography lessons and has a lot of fun with it. She told me that sometime during this week they should take a picture of waterfall and she is thinking where to find, or how to make one... I thought it should be something very special - shooting of waterfall, but really: where to find one locally?.. Afternoon had to go and meet with another good friend and then it happened - we stop in a little place called "Roadside America" to look at miniature village. It had it all - little houses, fields, mountains... waterfalls to. And this is when and how I took a picture of this waterfall. I totally love it. It reminding me some sort of glass work with all the crystal and fire in it... probably I may paint it some day.

And just few days later we went to do some photoshoot of river and spring waterfalls and just a few miles away from home found this one!

Progress with Waterfall.

After another evening session it started looking better. Still not finished, but getting there. Water has some more highlights put on it and some more colors embeded. I used blue, turquoise, pink, some yellows and greens to give it more volume and life.

Here is a a close up look at running water.

Same Painting, next step.

And here is next step, after I got stuck with this painting and had to ask for suggestions at WetCanvas Oil Pastel's forum.

Work still in progress!
