"River dance", pastel.

"River Dance"
Pastel on museum Pastelbord, 11 x 14"

My second entry for Camp Hill Plein Air 2015 competition was painted
from the boat lounge near Liverpool, PA.
It was a hot day, but we found a nice shady space, got comfortable
and I started this painting.
This time it was all about those groups of trees by the river.
They reminded me young girls gathered for group dance, and this is how
title of this painting was born. Something lyrical, mystical, something about river, fog,
something about dance of light, dancing elementals between water and sky...
And so I painted it as I called it.

Above: both of my painting framed and ready
for 3 days Plein Air exhibition at Camp Hill.
It was many beautiful painting there, but not that many pastels.
Event is just about over now,
I'm getting ready to start another painting soon.

McKee's Half-falls revisited.

Today's Plein Air session at one of my favorite local spots - McKee's Half-Falls.

I desided to work on mounted Wallis paper, because I wanted to use
wet technique for my underpainting.

I had two perfect hours of painting time, while Irina had some reading time
and also took several pictures of me painting and chipmunks playing.

This étude is available now at DPW auction.

Hope to get out next week for another session.

"Waterway with Lilies" by Tatiana Myers.

"Waterway with Lilies" by Tatiana Myers
12 x 12". Pastel on Ampersand Pastel Board.

This is a picture I was hunting for several weeks this spring.. There is a place at Wildwood park where swampy marsh is meeting with open water covered with Water Lilies. Those pretty little things were staying closed every time I go to see them. But one day I got lucky. Place looked picture perfect and I took numerous reference photos and painter "Waterway" after one of those shots.
Gouache underpainting, mixed pastels and pastel pencils.

"Half-Falls" on Aqua Board.

"Half Falls" by Tatiana Myers

4 X 4" Ampersand Aqua Bord. Gouache. Watercolor.

Yesterday came sample of different boards I ordered from one of my suppliers. I couldn't wait to try my new Ampersand "Aqua Board" and see how it acts.

What to say? I like it. I also tried my new gouache set, that was sitting around for some special occasion. Just as nice, as my new board.

I guess it is all I'm going to do tonight.

First Acrylics with knife.

"Valley of Fish", 8x10", Canvas Panel, Acrylics.

This evening I did something totally "not me" like. I needed to work on my Oil Pastel, but it was too much commotion, I couldn't even concentrate at all... So I took old canvas panel (that thing was sitting around for years) and 6 pack of acrylics, what came with my table easel and also would otherwise sit around forever... And a palette knife what I'm using for mixing up my tempera paint. Here is results of it... I see there mountains and Valley full of wild flowers... husband sees the ocean and school of red fish here... :-)

Chambersburg 25th Annual Miniature Art Exhibition 2009.

Today we got more good news. Two of my miniature paintings were accepted at Chambersburg 25th Annual Miniature Art  Juried Exhibition 2009 at Council for the Arts of Chambersburg.

This year show received 392 entries from 120 artists, however gallery can only accept 180 works, because of space issues. So I'm very pleased to see that my work will be included at this show.

I'm planning to attend opening reception on November 5-th and very much looking forward to see some great paintings there. So exiting!

Below: two of my works, that will be shown in Chambersburg.

Yesterday's Plein Air.

View on Rockville Bridge, 9 x 12"

La Carte, Mixed soft pastels and pastel pencils.

Yesterday had a chance to sneak out for some Plein Air painting with the group of great local artists.

Had a wonderful painting session, weather was perfect, light was perfect, everything was perfect, but timing... needed to rush  Irina to the job, right about when I was half-way done... So, painting took some finishing touch up after I was back home.

Thank you to Pat for inviting us to the group! It was great experience! Looking forward to see everybody again.
