"Trinity", WIP.

"Trinity" is my newest work-in-progress for upcoming 2013 Oil Pastel Society show.
Florals are naturally making one of my very favorite painting subjects, especially when
it come to Oil Pastels. But normally I do concentrate on flower itself us my main subject.
This work is different and brings in play much more elements of classical Still Life.
I'm paying just us much attention to the vase, as to those flowers
and this is something slightly different for me... but I do enjoy the process.
This painting is done (again!) on Ampersand Pastelbord, my support of choice
for most of my Oil Pastels. Very durable, easily accepting all sorts of solvents and
possible painting corrections. This stage You see here is an underpainting done
watercolor pencils what then turned into wash. Working with washes gives me ability
to preserve most of "tooth" on sanded surface and make application of Oil pastels
more easy to control, because of better adhesion.
I'm finished with my underpainting now and ready to start working with pastels.
Looking forward to this evening, when I'll have time to start...

Susquehanna River. Sketch. Plein Air. Soft pastel.

 Black Canson Pastel Paper

Holbein, Mount Vision

and other mixed soft pastels.

Spent about 30-40 min. tonight working on this Plein Air sketch. I like this place on Susquehanna, unfortunatelly weather and sky tonight didn't give me anything magnificent to work with. Oh, well, still pretty place! :-)

July fields. Almost done!

I'm getting to the point to call it finished, but probably will work just some more tomorrow with the very front of this painting and hopefully will take a good photo of it.

I used even more different pastel brands on it, and even more pencils! Still - fron part doesn't look totally finished yet, but I have to stop for this night.

This is how approximately finished painting will look like.

Erengy OP sale @ ASW art supply

Just a short note for everybody. I got my catalog of ASW art supply and found out about Plein Air sale 2009.

Their web site URL is: www.aswexpress.com .

Sale items are incuded Egerngy art grade oil pastel with very low price. 25 colors set is only $10, 50 colors is $19.60, 92 colors in wooden box (very nice box, I have one!) is only $59.99

This is not a top of line OP at my opinion, but still very good pastels and I love them for sketches. If somebody is iterested, check it out. They have open stoke too!

Of course other sweet things are also availble!

Morning sketch.

Did this one this morning with cup of tea in my hand (tea got cold, or course!)

Cove Creek farm with farm building removed (just didn't feel like painting a barn, it was about a big bush on the front, not about the barn at all!).

Erengy Oil pastel, 92 colors set

about 9 X 12 "
