Irises in Holbein Duo Oils. WIP.

"Dance in Purple" by Tatiana Myers
12 x 12". Holbein Duo oil
Ampersand Museum Gesso board  .

Got some of Ampersand Gesso board and decided to give it a try.
Once again I may say the same thing - I like it.
I'm working on another floral painting in more free style, that most of my works. No precision drawing, no underpainting, just light sketching and painting. Lot of fun too.

Pastel Mat.

"Pansy" sketch by Tatiana Myers
10 x 8". Pastel on PastelMat.

I heard a lot abot this support from European artists. Now I had my own chance to try it out.

"Lights and Reflections". Soft pastel WIP.

"Lights and Reflections" by Tatiana Myers
12 x 12". Pastel on Ampersand Museum Pastelboard.

This is going to be one more painting in my series of "lights and Reflections" of Cove Creek.
I started from Photoshopping of my reference photo up to the point that I'm totally in love with it. Then I did a light charcoal sketch and underpainting in gouache.
On this stage I'm starting with actual soft pastel.
For my firsl layers I'm using mostly Holbein and few other harder brands.
I love to work with this painting and very much looking forward to see how it progressing.

Last days before Christmas...

"Christmas Train" by James Myers. Printer Paper, Markers.

Last days before Christmas in our house consisted of one big Chaos.

My new computer broke, my not so new car broke, our bank had some glitch, so my account looked scary and neighbor's van got stuck on our driveway, so nobody can get in and out. How about that ?!..

So... not much painting was going on. All I did some sketches on Canson (just to get rid of that paper). I adore brave people that can work with pastels on Canson. I'm not a one of them. All my sketches are intended for the trash, but I took a picture of it anyway...

And lastly and most impotently, Jim also participated in drawing and came up with this one you can see on very top of my post. It was glued with some Scotch tape to the gun box. Yes, sure, I got one more gun for my endless collection. This time - with my husbands art on it.

Ladies, you are welcome to get envious!

Another Plein Air.

 Blue Hound Farm. 11 X 14 "

La Carte, mixed soft pastels.

This Thursday we went for another Plein Air session and it happened to be another beautiful day.

Place where we were painting is called Blue Hound Farm. Great place with so much to see!..

Here is a painting I did there, like usually I ran out of time and had to finish it back home.

Tonight's sketching.

 La Carte

Mixed Soft Pastels

After attending a meeting of Central PA pastel Society this afternoon, decided to try something different for change. I'm planning to paint a famous Rockville bridge just few miles away from our home. So I did some sketches and played with the colors. I was mostly accented on landscape, and no so much on the bridge this time. So, here is a first try.

And another sketch of the same thing, this time in OPs.

Magical woods. Sketch. Oil Pastel.

Cray Pass Specialist

Sketch book.

About 7 x 9"

This is a sketch of our local area in the woods (love that place!) that looks like something out of Lord Of The Rings.

I never can take good photos there - always not enough light. However occasionally I get something very special.

This time I got a good pic. of trees with stone wall, partially demolished by time. Beautiful!... I'm going to paint it someday (and probably more then once) at something big and good. This time just a sketch.

Willow, plein air sketch.

Canson paper,       Pastel pencils

At the end of day we managed to get out for about whole hour of day light!... I did another Plein Air sketch with pastel pencils. This time it was a nice tall willow right on the middle of the swamp. Love swamps and moskitos - they keep people away, so I can paint! :-)

Late evening sketching.

I'm under very strong impression that all I do lately is grooming of my dogs...

Till the glorious time when new kennel fence went up they all became look like muddy monsters... No comments here.

This evening I got Irina and camera and bunch of pastels and went out to the school in weak hope to catch some pictures of burning sky.

It was very pretty. We took some nice photos for future paintings and I spent whole 40 minutes working with plein air sketching of that sky and mountains behind. 40 minutes were all I had before it became dark.

I'm sort of disappointed with my Senneliers softies... some are not so softies and feels more like river rock and some... just totally wrong color. Fortunately I had few sticks of Mount Vision and it safe the situation... sky came out almost right. Greens on other hand... Well, see for yourself, here it is.

Morning sketch.

Did this one this morning with cup of tea in my hand (tea got cold, or course!)

Cove Creek farm with farm building removed (just didn't feel like painting a barn, it was about a big bush on the front, not about the barn at all!).

Erengy Oil pastel, 92 colors set

Backyard Plein Air.

" After contructors left"

Yesterday, after our contructors left for weekend, I finally was brave enough to take a look at our backyard... It look like a battle field now... No other comments.

I had no time to do any seriouse painting, so I did this wondrefull sketch and called it " After contructors left".

Fabriano Tiziano paper.

Mixed pastels.

So, here is my latest sketches.

The second painting is another lilac bush, few miles away from our home.
