Happy New Year!

That will be probably my last post for this year...
so much accomplished, so much work ahead of me in 2015.
Two paintings what I have posted here are my the most resent studies
done on various sanded papers with my beloved pastels.

Finally I got a chance to rearrange my "Dakota traveler"
Plein Air pastel box. I replaces some sticks what I never use,
some broken ones, some repeated colors
and some very soft Schmincke sticks on more durable
and more useful for Plein Air varieties.
What I have here now is combination of Girault,
Holbein, Terri Ludwig, Unison and  Great American
with addition of few other brands....
Everything looking clean, makes sense and ready to go.
I'm happy with what I got here.

On other hand... I just got to operate my new toy what I got
(shame to say!) about 3 years ago and never tried it out.
This is one of most simple models of dry-mounting machines.
Naturally my ides was about making of my own pastel panels.
have some gun and save some cash. As most of my pastel works
rarely exceed 11x14" size, this is a perfect model of press
for making of smaller panels at home. I purchased some rugmount
adhesive what came today at New Year Eve and
put my little press to test... BINGO! Everything works like a dream!
About 5 min with all preparations and brand-new panel is ready.
It is a dream what came alive. I can make my own boards
for Plein Air sessions and/or for working with solvents.
being do-it-yourself kind of person, I feel very happy.
I do need those panels and now I can make my own ones with no mess
and waiting time as when I have to use a glue...
So... with this in mind I feel ready for approaching 2015.
Maybe I even will start another painting tonight...
Or maybe I just will have another happy night with my family.

Happy New Year to all my readers!
See You back in 2015!

"Lakeside Flowers", Pastel.

"Lakeside Flowers"
8 x 10", Pastel on sanded paper.

One more small painting painted after our trip to Mount Rainier
National Park. We drove by this beautiful lake and I had to stop
and take several pictures of it for the future painting.
This is a smaller 8 x 10" study on U-art toned with fluid acrylics.
It brings back memories of our trip and memories of summer...
Enjoy!
