Audubon Artists juried show at Salmagundi Club, NYC.

"Orchids in Ruby Glass" Oil on panel.

Today I received some great news right out of my mail box... My painting "Orchids in Ruby Glass" was accepted to Audubon Artists annual show @ Salmagundi Art Club, 47 Fifth Ave., NYC.
It is a great honor to me and.. my first show in NYC! Good news - I should be back from Wyoming right before show will be open and hopefully will be able to attend reception!
Mean while I urgently need to frame the painting and talk with my shipping agent about delivery... complicated part about it is - I'll be out of State when it all will need to be done, but we hope to figure out something.
I see a trip to faming shop in my nearest future!

"Morning" pastel on Wallis.

"Morning"
Pastel on Wallis board 9 x 6"
Sometime last week I finished this small painting, I think It came out nice, even at some point paper was giving me hard time, because this was not "museum", but 'pro" grade and it is slightly different and doesn't handle wet applications too well, even it was mounted... Anyway - it is finished, it is... I think nice. And I full of other ideas.

Another pastel cooking!

"Morning"
Pastel on Wallis board 9 x 6"

Last night started another pastel painting. Very small, good study size. I took the same subject what I did before in Oil Pastels - scene from the local wooded area... sun-lighted and simple.
I want to keep this one very light without heavy pastel layering and to do so I started with watercolor underpainting. I put all major shapes down last night, dried it and started with some pastels... just like a hint of color to give me an idea what I'll be working with... I like it so far and hope to finish later this evening after I'm done wandering around and do things what have to be done first.
