ALLIED ARTISTS OF AMERICA, INC. 99-th annual exhibition.

Have another wonderful announcement to make... Yesterday I found out that my latest floral Oil Pastel "Illuminated" was accepted into the ALLIED ARTISTS OF AMERICA, INC. 99-th annual exhibition.
Show will ran from November 9 to November 18 2012 @ National Art Club Galleries, NYC.
Artists reception - Sunday November 18.

...but this is not all!..

Today I realized that the same very painting was also accepted into
The American Artists Professional League
84-th Grand National Show.

I'm totally happy about both and will need to start work on making of plans
how-to-ship-it and if we can go and attend this year's reception at
National Art Club.

California dreaming... first finished study.

"Point Lobos"
11x 14" Pastel on board.

And finally after few days of paintings and not painting
(not painting was a dominant part of the process) I finished this study.
Not to say 'I like all about it", but some things I like alot and perhaps
need to do few more try-outs for the same subject...it just has too much to offer.
Love it. Hope to do more...

"California Dreaming" in progress.

11x 14" Pastel on board.

Progress on my study of Cedar Grove @ Point Lobos, California.
This study is done on primed board. Light oil stain is used for underpainting
and creating of additional structure. Web-structure of oil stain becomes trunks of trees
and creating of grass. Coarse storks of  pastel-primer turning into structure of stone and tree brunches.
Very enjoyable painting process. I have too much fun with this one!

California Dreaming...

Yesterday we returned from big show in California. It was my first trip to West Cost.
What to say? Impressed, inspired, tons of memories and just about as much of beautiful pictures.
Going to paint, of course. Mean while working on my first pastel study of Point Lobos.

"Golden Hour" Pastel study on Wallis.

"Golden Hour" 9x12"
Pastel on Wallis.

Pastel study on recycled Wallis board.
I used this board during 2011 workshop for Plein Air study.
Then pastel was washed off, board dried and then I did this painting.
Charcoal and oil underpainting, pastel finish.

Tetons Magic. Miniature pastel.

"Tetons Magic"
4x4" Pastel on board.

One of my "to-be-miniature-show-entries" for this fall.
Painted after our 2011 trip to Wyoming. Grand Tetons are behind of my back,
I'm facing nice quiet piece of Wet Lands. Love it too.
This is not the first painting of this spot I did and I'm pretty sure - not last one either.
More to come.

Tetones in miniature. Pastel.

Just finished this one very small version of Marsh-Land in Tetons National forest.
This one is only 4 x 4" and hopefully will be entered at one of upcoming miniature art shows.
I love to work with those small painting. Lot of fun, yet - very challenging.
Especially in pastel.
