Another silk scarf.

Just a snap shot of my new work in progress -
one more what I do for my dear friend, Karen.
Karen owns a bunch of those adorable rascals,
called "Australian Cattle Dogs".
I love those guys (almost as much as my schnauzers).
This will be a scarf with portrait of her dogs.
Something special what she will not be able to get any other way...
Much more work to do and I enjoy this work.

My latest painting I just finished last night. One more version
of the same scene I painted before - Wildwood Lake

Regardless how many times I painted that place -
it is always a joy!

Fall at New England... with some pastels!

Untitled 6 x 9" location sketch.
Pastels on Wallis paper.

We with my friend Claire Barnwell just returned from our trip to CT,
where we were painting and enjoying beauty of New England's Fall.
I ended up with only 4 paintings this time, but brought
much reference materials to play with.
We were blessed with wonderful weather,
met some of my old friends, and I was happy to introduce m
my friend to my favorite Pastel-Guru, Richard McKinley.
We had wonderful time, many adventures and
some repeated misfortunes with our car...
What didn't prevent us from painting.
I will be posting more photos with the time, as I get to it.

"Drama Queen", Pastel.

"Drama Queen", 12 x 12", Pastel on Wallis.

This is my latest pastel piece painted on no more available Wallis Belgium Mist
sanded paper. I still have few pieces of it, love it, but no reason to keep it precious...
When it all will be gone I'll switch to UART and see what happens.
After all, sanded paper is and only sanded paper...
this is a portrait of one of our Garden Lillies. I'm not sure what kind she is.
We got this single bulb on Lilitopia show at Longwood gardens.
I didn't know they will have anything for sale and only had few bucks of cash on my pocket..
So we ended up with this beauty with no name. Beautiful, dramatic, especially in the dark.
I'm glad I finally got a chance to paint her... Love my lilies!

"Waterway with Lilies", pastel.

"Waterway with Lilies",
12 x 12", Pastel on Pastelbord.

Sometimes, when revisiting one of those old favorite paintings,
I starting to think :"What if..."
What if I would have done this different, or that different,
soften that edge, play contrast here or there...
Well, good news, when I'm looking at one of my PASTEL paintings,
it all is still possible.
"Paintings are never finished, just abandoned..."
I think it perfect description of pastel paintings.
One can always go back... if only one has a desire!...
With this in mind I spent my evening playing with this piece.
It is a risky game sometime, but today it just worked out for me.
So here is a new version of 'Waterways".
I like it. I hope You do too.
