Yesterday on meeting of our Pastel Society Greg did wonderful little DEMO of his wet/dry technique of painting Still Life.
Today we learned more and tried to work on own paintings...
Not something I would do every day... but I sort of like it!
(Sure I like Greg's own paintings, I'm not so sure if this style is a something I personally comfortable with for paintings of my own.)

Above - beginning of my work on today's Still Life.

With questions about paintings e-mail me at TanyaOfOz@aol.com .

  1. I thought this style looked a bit different than your own, Tatiana. Still and yet, it is so cool to see how beautifully you can do other styles of work. I think this is coming along magnificently.

  2. Thank You, Autumn!

Yes, it is totally different. However I'm there to learn about methods, not about style. If we all would have the same style, it would be no art. Methods, however, this is what allow you to make your art (and make it in your own style, of course if you have one). Greg is very knowledgeable person, a lot of to learn there, especially because what he does looks nothing like me.

  3. I don't know anything about the wet/dry technique, so I will be looking forward to seeing how this looks, Tatiana. It's always fun to learn something new.

  4. It is practically mean combination of working with dry pastel and washes. I'm using it a lot in my own work, but not the way Greg does it. He is way more bold in his paintings compare to myself.
