"Irises" Oil Pastel 20 x 16", Pastelbord. WIP

"Irises" Oil Pastel 20 x 16", Pastelbord.

So far I'm mostly working on background. there are few things I do not like on original photo, so I just keep re-painting it.... And painting it over again... and again... I hope it is getting better, it is all I have to say (Usually backgrounds come to me easy. this one is a great exclusion.)

"Summer Poppies" AKA "Secret Garden"

"Summer Poppies"
14 x 11", Oil on Ampersand  board.

With this mess of poppies taking so long I have no idea. Yes, I like it with Oil pastel. I'm terrified to use spray fixative on it, but I'm going to do it. And?of maybe some Golden varnish too.

The last two days of workshop were demo of Portrait painting Greg did for us and then everybody was heaving "fun" with own projects.
Two beautiful projects (our models) had enough courage to put up with all of us trying to do our best what at beginning was looking pretty scary (at my own case anyway!). Once again, I didn't finish my work, I seriously need more time and more practice. However it was a great experience, I learned a lot and our group had some very good time straggling all together. It was real fun, even all it was - bunch f hard work for everybody.
Thank You, Greg!
Thank You our models and thank you to all my friends from CPPS. It was a best week what I had for long, long time.

"Crimson and Gold" Oil Pastel is finished.

"Crimson and Gold" by Tatiana Myers
12 x 12".  Oil Pastel on Ampersand Museum Pastelboard

Weekend went as one big fight with my hubby's computer. Therefore painting took longer then I expected. :-)
However it is done and I'm happy.

"Crimson and Gold" Oil Pastel WIP.

"Crimson and Gold" by Tatiana Myers
12 x 12".Oil Pastel on Ampersand Museum Pastelboard

And here is another WIP of Poppies. What a mess! Had very hard time with yellow color, because of my drawing and OP weren't cooperating with each other and lines of graphite were showing trough...
With extensive layering I mostly fixed that problem.
Now I just have to finish it. Sounds easy.

"Iris Garden" by Tatiana Myers

Done with somewhat big part of Oil Pastel layering. Looks like one more work I'm totally in love with and enjoing my every painting session. I think it will be just beautifull, when finished.

Koi Pond. Oil Pastel WIP. Back to painting!

"Koi Pond" Oil pastel WIP.   8 x 10 "

Ampersand Pastel Board,

Holbein and Sennelier Oil Pastel.

I'm finally back to my "Koi Poind". Again.

No more show paintings, dead lines, special ideas, just my old work, what I need to finish. I'm glad I can do it. Looking at my Koi fish I feel that right now many things I would done differently, but I need to deal with what I have, so I'll try to get my best out of it.

Here is a next update on this painting after long brake.

Awakening. WIP.

11 X 14" Ampersand pastel board,
Lyra oil pencils, Neocolor II Wax pastel,
Holbein & Sennelier oil pastels.

Few years ago we had a bad storm, when lot of rain turned into the ice. It was pretty dangerous, but so amazingly beautiful! Trees were covered with sparkling ice and so was my favorite rose bush - Climbing Blaze.

I took several photos of roses, so far ice didn't melt, and felled in love with one of those pictures. Later on I painted "Awakening" for my 2009 Oil Pastel Society annual show and now want to share with you WIP pictures of my painting. Hope you will enjoy it.

Paiting of the week.

For whatever reason often I'm starting to work with more then one painting/drawing on a time... Usually I know that some of them will take a lot of time and a lot of thinking and it will be SLOW. However some I'm trying to finish at time I gave myself... usually around a week or so. It could be half of hour daily or several hours... depends of time availability. It is something sort of "painting of the week". Not exactly a sketch, but something what started and finished in short period of time. This week it was seascape what I mostly did in Senneliers, but added just a hint of Neoplastels, mostly to change a sky color, since I have limited blues in my arsenal. Here how it came out. The only part I'm not totally happy with would be a clouds. I like the rock on the right (yes, once again - the rock!) and structure of water. New shapers were very helpful with it. mMaybe I will change the clouds, I'm not sure.
