"Fire and Ice", work in project.

Last week was busy and I didn't work much on any of my art projects.
However, now I'm back to another silk painting.
I call it :"Fire and Ice", as it is going to be a portrait of white and red rose.
It is still in progress, about half-way done.  I think I'm just going to frame this one.

Stay tuned!
Next week I'm going to post finished painting.

"Spring Joy". Silk painting.

My latest art project was another painting on silk.
I wanted to make something very different from just regular
"wall-hanging" piece of art, therefore I made it
to be wearable one.
I made one of my schnauzer-dog into my model
and added some bright tulips from the last spring photoshoot.
I love my dogs and I love my flowers!...
I combined both and got beautiful idea for this piece
what I called "Spring Joy".

This is a hand-painted with silk dyes one-of-a-kind scarf
decorated with spring blooms and pictures of dogs.
It is finished now and I only have to steam it in a day or two to set the colors.

I'm ready for the next project and ready for spring!

"Pure Innocence", silk painting.

"Pure Innocence", 12 x 9",
Silk, dyes.

I wanted to try it for a while, but never did...
Last month  I got bitten by creativity and finally purchased
modest set of American-made silk dyes and some fabric
to test it on... Plus of course some chemicals...
This is my #1 try out on silk painting.
Model for the "Innocence" was our Fox Terrier "Sasha",
who being a Fox Terrier is anything, but "innocent".
I enjoyed my painting session, no pressure of any sort,
just do it and let see what happens...
I still need to "fix" those dyes, so piece will be washable.
Didn't get a chance to do that yet.
Hopefully that will work out well....
Mean while I'm thinking of starting next piece.

"Walk through the dunes", pastel.

"Walk through the dunes"
9 x 12" on Multimedia panel.

This painting brings back my memories of beautiful pink Dunes of Idaho.
Places where eye can wander without stopping on anything related to human civilization.
So much of space, so much of poetry.
One day I hope to be back there to see my friends
and all that incredible  humble beauty what is called "desert"

One more Tetons-themed painting what I finished the other evening.
This one also done on multimedia surface, however with no underpainting.
tetones Valley always was one of my favorite places to paint.
I'm looking forward to go back there and spend more time with my camera and easel.

"Under the Arch"

"Under the Arch", Pastel over WC.

This is another painting from Lake Superior.
Many beautiful waterfalls, creeks, bridges and stone formations
are so typical for this area...
Water in those creeks usually runs brown as root beer.
Absolutely beautiful.
This is my attempt to recreate my memory of one of those places.

"Street Corner", Pastel

"Street Corner"
12 x 16"
Pastel with WC on multimedia pastel panel.

Another studio work depicting beautiful and bright San Miguel De Allende.
This is the place new with the central square (Le Jardin).
I did some street sketching there, but wanted to have it as bigger piece
done in studio. So with all my sketches and some photos I took
here is result. I had to edit many things out - as a traffic, crowds etc
and make this piece more personal and calm. For me it is about light
and color and not so much about people and action.. however I added a single figure
of man to give this work even more interest.
He is a part of this town and carry its colors, but what do we know about him?..
What he is waiting for?.. What he is looking at?..
Maybe he lives there, but maybe he is another traveler, as myself, who is here
only for the moment of time enjoying and observing and being part of it?..
Regardless... this is finished. And this is my biggest up to date painting is soft pastels.

"Where The Grass is Greener..." Pastel.

"Where The Grass is Greener..."
9 x 12", Pastel with WC on Multimedia panel.

This May I'll be painting with group of Pastel Artists
in Cape Cod... Can not wait.... It should be gorgeous!...
Mean while trying to get even more familiar with the subject...
I love painting marshes... simple - yet - so beautiful.
So here is one more... actual place outside of Plymouth, MA.
That was a little park what I had opportunity to explore
all by myself in 2014... I wish I would have more time... but
perhaps this year it will be possible. We will see.
