And here is another WIP of Poppies. What a mess! Had very hard time with yellow color, because of my drawing and OP weren't cooperating with each other and lines of graphite were showing trough... 

With extensive layering I mostly fixed that problem.

Now I just have to finish it. Sounds easy.

I finished my Irises last night. Painting came out much more decorative compare to most of my works, but I still like it. I feel a pond right behind of all those flowers, lot of moister and freshness. Just what you need on a hot summer day! Now it should dry and then it will be ready for frame...

I'm about half-way trough with my initial layer of painting.

So far so good. I wish I would have a good dark violet and maybe just maybe - another shade of green... but oh, well, I have what I have, just need to make it work. That is all.

 Got some of Ampersand Gesso board and decided to give it a try. 

Once again I may say the same thing - I like it.

I'm working on another floral painting in more free style, that most of my works. No precision drawing, no underpainting, just light sketching and painting. Lot of fun too.

Worked some more on my tempera poppies today. Aquaboard performs well, I think it will be just great for bigger paintings.However for small works like this smooth clay board should be better. Will have to give it a try next time. And with this one... I think I'll need one more painting session.

My next project has to be done for demonstration of Egg Tempera painting for Franklin County Art Alliance, Chambersburg, PA this upcoming Wednesday, May 12. 

I'm gathering some materials and information for this demo and also trying some new support for egg tempera miniature. It is a first time when I'm working with this paint on Aquaboard. I think I like it for this kind of painting. Not sure it would work for portrait or smaller miniature,

because of texture of the board.
