My August solo show is going up!

2-nd Floor Gallery

Today is a Day.

I took over 20 my newest and best paintings to the gallery.

This will be my first solo show in United States. Pretty exiting!

My exhibition will be located at first floor of  so called "2-nd Floor Gallery", Mechanicsburg, PA.

Artist reception will be held on August 21 from 7 to 10 PM.

Sure nothing could be simple and I just had to forget my latest painting at home.

I knew I will do something of this sort, so it was not big surprise, just one more trip back to Mechanicsburg.  Sure, I'm curious to see how it will be looking on a wall, but I'll ave to wait week or so. Starting from tomorrow every morning I'll be running to State College for our annual workshop at Central Pennsylvania Pastel Society. What a month!

OK. I call it finished. Not exactly what i expected, BUT... this is a thing with paintings - they live their own life and I never know for sure what each next one will be. Probably it is a best part about art. Otherwise it would be just simple replication of reality.

Worked some more on my latest pastel. Really want to finish it, but always something getting on my way. One thing after another.

I can only hope after I will finish this painting, it will not look like one big confusing mess.

I'm just soooo glad this day is over. What a mess! Vet appointments, doctors appointments, accidents, emergencies... I kind of  had enough of it for one day. I think I'm too tired to even hold my paints. There is a chance I even will go in bed before midnight, not way after such... However with all chaos I got some more painting done. I think it feels good?.. I think?... I can think?...

Beginning of another 12 x 12" landscape/waterscape of the very same Cove Creek. So far I only finished initial underpainting in charcoal and watermedia. Tomorrow I'm going to start with pastel itself. Can not wait to start, but... it is getting late and I better leave it for today... especially because of "today" is already "tomorrow".

I'm done, done done, so done with this cat! (Or this cat is so done with me... I'm not even sure). Anyway... it is ready, framed and hanging on my wall. ready to go to gallery at the end of this month. And I still have another two weeks to come up with some other ideas. I'm not sure it will be another something as big as this one. i just may not have enough time to finish it.

Whatever. I have No time, I need to MAKE some time then and finish this cat before it got covered with half-inch sick layer of dust.

 
Today I started working with brush and solvent. Now I have to do it really fast, otherwise... read above, it will be too much dust and dogs hair. :-)

Building up new layers of Oil pastel is similar to almost sculpturing of your painting. I totally enjoy the process, but still need to remember about my time lines.

Finished with first layer of my painting. So far so good. Time to go to advanced blending and details. And I stuck with house remodeling instead.
